FUNDRAISER FIVE-O CONCERT

Vincent Alexander hosts Fundraising Concert to celebrate his Fiftieth Birth Anniversary and raise funds for The Georgetown District SSEE Awards and Mentorship Scheme.

A grand fundraising concert dubbed the FIVE O Concert is being held at the Concert Hall of City Hall on Friday, December 15th, 2004, at 7:00pm. Mr. Vincent Alexander MP, founder and Chairman of the Georgetown District SSEE Awards and Mentorship Scheme is hosting the concert to raise funds for the Scheme. The event also serves as the celebration of his fiftieth birth anniversary.
The Scheme, which was inaugurated in 2001, seeks to mould its immediate beneficiaries into capable, conscientious and confident young people who would ultimately make positive contributions to their communities and Guyana as a whole. It currently services 70 Mentees who are exposed to training related to their personal development, outdoor activities including tours to places of interest around Georgetown, moral education, and interaction with their peers from other youth groups. There is much more that it wishes to undertake in order to continue to fulfil its objectives, and in this regard more resources and needed. While it benefits from the munificence of some citizens and organisations who share its vision of providing opportunities for the enhancement of the lives of these young people, the Scheme has begun to address the garnering of these resources. This concert is one such endeavour.
The FIVE O concert features and promises an evening of clean enjoyable entertainment. The programme features prominent local performing artistes including, Compton ‘Coody’ Hodge, Henry Rodney, Delma Lynch, Terrence Fox, Circle of Love Chorale, Jazz Plus (of Sidewalk Café), Stephanie Bowry, the Georgetown Quartet, as well as members of Guyana Association of the Visually Impaired.
The Press, by a copy of this release, is also invited to cover the event.
