Former Minister of Government, Parliamentarian and Chairman of the People’s National Congress, Mr. Robert Jordan, died in Georgetown at around midday today, Tuesday, January 4, 2005.

Mr. Robert Jordan first entered Parliament as a representative of the Upper-Demerara constituency and served in several positions including Minister of Agriculture. He was also a former Chairman of the People’s National Congress.

Mr. Robert Jordan, an accountant by profession, had retired from public life and was ailing at his home in Canje Street, Section ‘K’, Campbellville. Details of Mr. Jordan and of arrangements for his funeral will be announced later. He leaves to mourn his wife and four (4) children, Elinor, Frank, Robert and Phyllis. The People’s National Congress Reform extends sincere sympathy to the family of the late Robert Jordan.
