PRESS RELEASE DEATH OF DR. CEDRIC GRANT, CCH People's National Congress Reform Congress Place, Sophia, Georgetown, Guyana. Wednesday, June 15, 2005




The People's National Congress Reform is deeply saddened at the news of the death of Dr. Cedric Grant CCH, from a heart attack, which he sustained earlier today, Wednesday, June 15, 2005.

Dr. Grant was one of Guyana’s ablest public servants who will be best remembered for his sterling contributions towards laying the foundations of Guyana’s Diplomatic Service after the attainment of Independence. He served as Guyana’s High Commissioner to Southern Africa while stationed in Zambia, High Commissioner to the Court of St. James in the United Kingdom and Ambassador to the United States of America.

The Party wishes to convey its profound sympathy to his sorrowing widow, children and other relatives at this sad time.

A fuller statement on Dr. Grant’s service and contribution to Guyana will be issued by the Party in due course.
