The Leadership of the People’s National Congress Reform is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Mr. Muntaz Ali, which took place at the St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital on Sunday, February 5, 2006, following a heart attack, which he suffered a few days earlier.

At the time of his death Mr. Ali was a member of the People’s National Congress Reform, wherein he served as a Member of the Party’s Regional Committee in Region No. 5, where he resided. He also previously served at the National Level as a Member of the Party’s Central Executive Committee.

An astute businessman, Mr. Muntaz Ali served the business community in particular and the Guyanese community at large in various capacities, including Cinema Proprietor and Managing Director of Global Films. Manager of M. Osman Ltd. Sawmills of Rosignol, West Coast Berbice, Immediate Past Chairman of the West Berbice Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Regional Chambers of Commerce.

The Party Leader, Mr. Robert H.O. Corbin, other Members of the Central Executive Committee and the General Council wish to express to the family, relatives and friends of Mr. Muntaz Ali sincere and heartfelt condolences.
