Mr. Albert Ramdin, Assistant Secretary General of the Organisation of American States (OAS), paid a courtesy call on the Leader of the People's National Congress Reform and Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Robert Corbin MP, on Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at his office at Congress Place, Sophia. Accompanying Mr. Albert Ramdin were Mr. Dennis Moses, Director General of the Secretariat of the OAS in Guyana and Ms. Cherry Trots, Advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary General.

Mr. Corbin was accompanied at this meeting by the Chairman of the Party, Mr. Winston Murray CCH, MP, General Secretary, Mr. Oscar Clarke and Opposition Chief Whip, Mr. E. Lance Carberry MP.

Mr. Ramdin explained that the visit of his delegation to Guyana was a routine one during which he took the opportunity to meet with stakeholders in order to receive their perspectives on various issues.

The meeting focused on issues related to preparations for the upcoming elections.
