On Thursday, April 20, 2006, Elder and Sister Black, of the Public Affairs Division of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, based in Utah, paid a courtesy call on the Leader of the People's National Congress Reform, Mr. Robert Corbin, M.P, at his Congress Place Office. Accompanying them was President of the Guyana Chapter of the Church Elder Barrow.

Prior to Elder and Sister Black’s visit the Head of the Humanitarian Division of the Church in the Caribbean, Elder and Sister Larson, who are based in Barbados, visited Guyana and presented gifts to the Human Services Department of the People's National Congress Reform in the Hall of Heroes, at Congress Place Sophia.

Receiving the gifts which included School books, other school supplies as well as maternity and sanitary kits, Leader of the People's National Congress Reform, Mr. Robert Corbin, M.P., in thanking the organisation, recalled the working relationship between the Church and the People's National Congress Reform, through its Director of the Human Services, Ms. Volda Lawrence MP. He assured the donors that the items would be distributed to needy cases throughout Guyana.
