PRESS RELEASE By the People’s National Congress Reform OVERSEAS VISIT BY THE LEADER OF THE PNCR People's National Congress Reform Congress Place, Sophia, Georgetown, Guyana. Sunday, 2 July, 2006




The Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform and Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Robert H. O. Corbin, left Guyana today on his way to the United Kingdom where, among other activities, he will meet and brief Party members and the wider Guyanese community about the situation in Guyana. Mr. Corbin will address the state of election preparations by GECOM and the worsening social and political environment.

On his way to the United Kingdom, Mr. Corbin will make a brief stopover in St Kitts and Nevis, where the 27th Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government is being held. He will brief the CARICOM Heads on the current Electoral and pending Constitutional crisis which is being created by GECOM and the PPP/C Administration.

Mr. Robert Corbin is being accompanied to the UK by the Chairman of the PNCR, Mr. Winston S. Murray, and the Party Treasurer, Mr. Hamley F. Case. They are expected to return to Guyana by next weekend.
