PRESS RELEASE PNCR LEADER VISIT TO BEREAVED FAMILIES IN LINDEN 12 October 2007

The Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform and Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Robert H.O. Corbin paid a visit to Linden on the 11th October, 2007. He was accompanied by Ms. Vanessa Kissoon, Regional Member of Parliament and Ms. Denise Miller.

The PNCR’s Leader’s visit to Linden came in the wake of the horrific accident which occurred at Linden on the 10th October, 2007 and which claimed the lives of eleven people including that of two year old Tyress McLean. Mr. Corbin visited the homes of the bereaved families and offered the condolences of his Party as well as, of himself and family. The PNCR Leader advised the families to put their faith in the great Jehovah and he would be able to guide them through this moment of pain, sorrow and loss.

While at Linden, Mr. Corbin took the opportunity to hold a meeting with the Interim Management Council on the question of the situation affecting the Linden Vendors and the allocation of vending stalls. He listened carefully to the views expressed in the meeting and took note of those matters which could be taken up at the appropriate level by his Party.

Mr. Corbin returned to Georgetown late that evening.
