PRESS RELEASE DEATH OF TELEVISON JOURNALIST, AKILA JACOBS

The People's National Congress Reform is deeply saddened at the news of the death of NCN television journalist, Ms. Akila Jacobs who passed away as the result of an accident at Amelia’s Ward on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway on Saturday last while on assignment. Also killed in that tragic accident was Terrence Griffith Tappin, the driver of the minibus in which they were travelling.

The PNCR wishes through this medium to offer its profound sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased. Akila will be specially remembered, at our Press Conferences, for her pleasant and engaging personality. At the same time we pray that those injured in the accident will achieve full and complete recovery from their injuries.

While it is true that words cannot really dispel the pain and anguish which the families of these victims must feel at this time, we asked them to remember that in these dark times “Faith in God keeps hope alive.”
