PRESS RELEASE PNCR HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT REACHES OUT TO FIRE VICTIMS



On Thursday, November 13, 2008, the Human Services and Welfare department of the People’s National Congress Reform donated household item, food stuff and mattresses to victims of three (3) recent fires at Congress Place, Sophia. The General Secretary, Mr. Oscar Clarke and other members of the Party handed over the items to each recipient. On hand to receive the donations were:

 Ms. Esther Gordon and family of Kaneville, Grove, East Bank Demerara, whose home was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin on November 2nd.

 Ms. Alicia Rodney and family of 46 Durban Street, Lodge whose home was destroyed by fire at Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara. Her father, 84 year old Vivian Rodney perished in the fire.

 Ramdei Mahadeo and family of 25 Craigville, Cove and John, East Coast Demerara whose home at Non Pariel on the East Coast of Demerara was allegedly set on fire by her reputed husband who had threatened to kill her and her children.
