The Coordinators of the Sophia Literacy Project hosted their annual Christmas Party

On Saturday, December 13, 2008, the coordinators of the Sophia Literacy Project held their Christmas Party at Congress Place, Sophia. Over two hundred children were provided entertainment by singing carols, reciting poems, and dancing to music provided.

The activity commenced with a prayer by Ms. Jennifer Wade, MP after which the Party Leader Mr. Robert Corbin, MP, addressed the gathering. He congratulated the children for their dedication to their studies and opined that the Party was proud of their achievements. Mr. Corbin took the opportunity to explain the meaning of Christmas to his young charges and wished them all a bright and successful New Year.

Mr. Corbin entertained the youths by singing, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and danced along with the children and joined with other members of the Executive in serving the children and distributing Christmas gifts.

The Sophia Literacy Project is Co-ordinated by Mrs. Carol Corbin, Ms. Africo Selman, MP, Mrs. Glenyss James, Mrs. Lyris Primo and Mrs. Patricia McPherson.
