The programme, which was chaired by Mr. Basil Bradshaw and Dr. Faith Harding, featured many artistes of national acclaim including the National Dance Company, the West Ruimveldt Choir, Bonny Alves and Charmaine Blackman, Eze Rockcliffe of the Yoruba Singers, G-Money, Circle of Love, the Mighty Rebel, Violinist - Ms. Chie Clarke and First Born, among others.

The audience which comprised members of the Diplomatic Corps resident in Guyana, members of the Private Sector and other stakeholders, members of the Central Executive Committee and members of Parliament of the PNCR as well as other special invitees were treated to Christmas music, dances and comedy.

In brief opening remarks, Chairman of the PNCR, Mr. Bishwaishwar “Cammie” Ramsaroop, C.C.H., welcomed everyone present on behalf of the Party. He expressed the Party’s appreciation to the many kind friends and Comrades who have helped out in one way or another during the year.

Extending Christmas Greetings, the Leader of the PNCR, Mr. Robert Corbin, M.P. said that this is a special season of the year when we remember those who are near and dear to us especially children and the elderly. For many Christians this season provides the basis of their faith and gives hope for all mankind. He wished everyone and their families the peace that goes with the season and opined that, not withstanding the many challenges that Guyanese are facing in our country, they would have the strength and fortitude to overcome their difficulties.

Mr. Corbin paid special tribute to the organizers of the evening’s programme and the performers who entertained the audience thereby demonstrating the wealth of talent which we possess. On behalf of the PNCR, the Party Leader extended to members of the Diplomatic Corps, members of the Private Sector and their families a very pleasant and peaceful Christmas. In closing he wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Productive 2010.

The curtains came down on the evening’s activity with the entire audience participating in the singing of “Joy to the World”, “Ding Dong Merrily on High” and “Feliz Navidad” after which there was a Cocktail Reception.
