CHINESE AMBASSADOR CALLS ON PNCR LEADER--PRESS RELEASE Friday 7th January 2011




On Thursday 6th January 2011, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Guyana, H.E. Yu Wenzhe, paid a courtesy call on the Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform and Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Robert H.O. Corbin, M.P. Mr. Corbin and the General Secretary of the Party, Mr. Oscar Clarke welcomed the new Ambassador.

Ambassador Yu Wenzhe has been in Guyana for the past four months and has expressed admiration of the country’s natural beauty. This is his first overseas post in the Region as his last posting was in Ghana. Mr. Corbin wished the new Ambassador a successful stay as his predecessors would have enjoyed in Guyana over the years. Additionally, the Opposition Leader noted that the PNCR has always had close relations with his predecessors and highly values the friendship between our two countries and peoples.

The PNCR has always admired China’s manner of International Relations while noting that such association were initially orchestrated by the Founder Leader of the People’s National Congress, Mr. Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham.

Ambassador Yu Wenzhe opined that China never forgets its old friends, while observing that friendship has now become a matter of National Policy.
