NCW SPECIAL WOMEN’S CONVENTION - Friday 8th April 2011




The National Congress of Women (NCW), the women’s arm of the People’s National Congress Reform will host a Special Women’s Convention on Saturday 9th April 2011, beginning at 09:30 hours (9:30 am), at Congress Place, Sophia, Georgetown. This Convention, under the theme, “Mobilising and Empowering Women for Governance”, is being convened for the purpose of mobilising our women for their role and participation in the upcoming National and Regional Elections. This Convention will bring together women from the ten (10) Regions of Guyana.



The Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform, Mr. Robert Corbin, M.P. will set the tone of the Convention, while the main address will be given by the Party’s Presidential Candidate , Brigadier (ret’d) David Granger. Some attention will also be paid to ‘Campaigning Strategies’, especially since the women form the main pillar of the People’s National Congress Reform and will be expected to play an active role in the upcoming National and Regional Elections. Through group discussions, the women will make recommendations for an effective campaign strategy in their Regions.



The General Secretary of our Party, Mr. Oscar Clarke, will deliver the Charge to the participants.
