Condolences on the Passing of Cde. Viola Burnham from the New York #1 PNC Group

The New York #1 PNC/R Group regrets the passing of Comrade Viola
Burnham, wife of the late Linden Forbes Samson Burnham, first Executive
President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. She was the First Lady of
Guyana, a position she carried with the greatest honor and the highest dignity.
She was the first National President of the WRSM and, in that capacity, she
made an invaluable contribution not only to the women in the PNC, but to the
women of the country and the world as a whole. As Vice President of Education
she made a sterling contribution towards the educational development of
Guyana. She was a wonderful wife to the late Forbes Burnham and a devoted
mother to their children.

The New York #1 PNC Group mourns the loss of this outstanding First Lady
and stalwart woman. We extend our deepest condolences and sincerest
sympathy to her sorrowing children, grand children, brother and sisters and
other bereaved relatives.
